My path toward holistic nutrition has been shaped by a lifetime of health challenges.
As a baby, I struggled with severe digestive reactions to formula and constant stomach pain. This set the stage for a childhood of frequent illness—strep throat, repeated antibiotics, and eventually having my tonsils and adenoids removed without ever addressing the root causes.
Growing up, I faced ongoing digestive issues, severe bloating, mouth ulcers, and anxiety. Like many, I ate a typical processed diet with little understanding of how food impacted my health.
University brought its own challenges—disordered eating, more digestive distress, and continued frustration over the lack of answers.
In my mid-twenties, while backpacking through Asia, I had multiple bouts of foodborne illness and heavy antibiotic use that worsened my gut health.
After moving to America with three young children, I was diagnosed with IBS and GERD and prescribed acid-blocking medication for over a decade—without any discussion about diet or lifestyle.
Everything changed when my daughter was diagnosed with leukemia at age five. For the first time, I learned about the importance of gut bacteria.
When I asked about nutrition, I was told to just focus on calories—no matter the source. Six months later, I faced my own breast health scare.
During that stressful time, I didn’t have the resources to dig deeper—but a seed was planted.
These experiences fueled my commitment to understanding the connection between nutrition, mental health, and overall wellbeing.
As my children grew, I volunteered in the community, cooked for families in crisis, and supported mental health programs. This work helped me realize that food and caring for others are at the heart of who I am.
When my youngest prepared to leave for university, I knew it was time to invest in myself. I enrolled at Bauman College to become a Certified Nutrition Consultant.
Though the pandemic delayed my plans, it also led me to advanced training in functional testing and personalized nutrition. I learned how stress, sleep, toxins, and diet all work together—and how each of us metabolizes nutrients differently.
Following my own restorative protocol, I no longer struggle with gas, bloating, canker sores, or GERD. Mindfulness, gratitude, movement, and nourishing food have helped me feel more resilient and joyful.
Today, as I launch my practice, I bring not only professional knowledge but also deep empathy and lived experience. I understand what it’s like to feel unwell and unheard.
My mission is to empower you to take charge of your health, uncover the unique blocks that stand in the way of feeling your best, and build sustainable habits for lifelong wellbeing.
